Knitterstream
Tasked with creating a data visualisation display for a creativity conference in 2012 we ditched the idea of touch screens and slick interfaces and instead went old school with a hacked 1990’s knitting machine and plenty of yarn. A custom built Python script allowed attendees to tweet messages which were converted into designs and then knitted out onto a giant scarf. We even got a quote from Francis Ford Coppola to start off the conversation.
